New pots

A sight I was glad to see!
The new shape jugs- Busty Jugs !!
This is my black glaze.....Hmm
and Iron reds are always fickle!! I just need to be braver and glaze thicker!!

  1. Worth getting up early, for the firing, then!
That is a really nice black glaze.
I'd like to see some more pics of it.
A kind of subtle black, that the uninitiated probably can't see at all, poor creatures that they are.

    What's in it, colouring constituent-wise?
I'm not joking, by the way, I do like it.
I also like that blue on the jugs, the way it's translucent over detail.

  2. The black glaze(!) has yellow ochre in it-I used up an old bag of Wengers yellow ochre! The next batch should be a good glossy black, breaking like a Tenmoku. The base is the old Leach 1234!
The colouring in the jugs is actually copper carbonate. It will be one of those that some will swear that it is green, others blue!!

It is most odd, a bit of Farmtown from facebook seems to have wandered onto this post!!! Can you see it?

  3. Love the little blue and white with squiggle particularly.

  4. I wondered what the farmy bit was, and how it was relevant.
Wengers Yellow Ochre!, good grief... Wengers went out of business when dinosaurs still roamed the earth!
Still, there's no expiry date on yellow ochre.

    The blue's good, definitely.

Especially if it's made out of the limited stores I've got.

  7. Um...If you go into "edit post", "edit html", you should be able to delete the offending javanese bit, which will start just after "busty jugs!!", and go on until "div style="margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center;""

Ummm. The comment form balked at me quoting html code.
