One of my favorite tropical plants...such great color! And then they drop the blossoms all over the place too! I've had potted ones hanging on a porch...in Florida. Can't keep them alive here in NC.
Years ago I bought a plant at a nursery (in Pennsylvania, USA) and was amazed by the beautiful papery flowers - they dried just as they are, so I saved them in a jar. Sadly the plant didn't survive. They really are fascinating!
Hi, I've removed word verification...so if all goes well I'll leave it off..... Please leave a pebble in the pool ((o)) even if you don't want to comment, it is nice to see where you all come from! Thanks!
I,do love this plant, it grows in so many countries, i think the flowers are leaves maybe, would love to grow one in the uk but probably too cold.
ReplyDeleteThey really are gorgeous. Only seen them in life once, but it makes an impression.
ReplyDeleteThat is a plant from my past! Used to be a common hedge plant - both pretty and very secure!
ReplyDeleteWe used to have a large on when we lived up north. Some of them have nasty thorns.
ReplyDeleteYes there are plenty of these growing near our house in people backyards, very pretty but a voracious vine.
ReplyDeleteLove the color and the flower. I alway think they look like tissue paper!
