Our one tourist trip in four months....Well worth the 35$ each for the trip on the railway...powered by the engine from a grey Fergie! Unfortunately we missed the exhibition, but what we did see was inspiring.
What a cute little train. I would really LOVE to go on that! So now you're digesting your long NZ stay. It's quite something to spend four months, I didn't get whether it was simply a holiday or whether it was also work related.
Jenny we just look at it as living there for 4 months...technically a holiday, but not doing touristy things. Meeting the real Aotearoa/New Zealand you could say. Not heating the house in Scotland for the Winter months!!
It is such a great little bit of Kiwiana and ingenuity, isn't it! We went a couple years ago and I was a delighted old lady who enjoyed it more than the kids on the train!

ReplyDeleteWe visited in 2015! loved it, and loved the whole area (we had not long landed in Auckland and it was a great introduction to NZ).
