We managed to get three groups of friends together...some hadn't seen each other for a while...and others made new friends!....we booked a table for eighteen!!
Then this morning a quick look at the Searjeant Gallery on the Quay as one exhibition was being cleared... mostly local work, a brilliant selection.

And on the road to Bulls for fuel...
Then Pirate got the camera in Levin..
Before we hit the new expressway...which in parts has a cycle lane on the hard shoulder!!
And now we are in Waikanae, having a rest before tomorrow's ferry
Hope all goes well with the ferry. Time seems to have gone quickly.

ReplyDeleteThere is a state park we enjoy very much called Letchworth. It has miles of hiking trails, and it really is beautiful. They have a high railroad trestle. A tenant's won works on the railroad, and makes that passing regularly. He told us that there is a protocol. When the train goes over the bridge, all the employees are instructed to go to the window and wave to the people below.
I love that, the idea of doing something for no other reason that to make onlookers happy.
