Pirate's birthday bouquet from fellow Blogger "Boxes &Bellows" and her lovely Eve who we met at Dumfries House for lunch over a week ago on their way home to the Western Isles.

Then sunset just now...I found how to get the truer colours... gradually sneak up on it, then delete those that didn't work!

That is something I loved about my visit: those remarkable stone walls! I deleted an awful lot of pictures today, and STILL managed to end up with stinkers!
Yeah, I've noticed that too re. sunset photos. The camera takes a moment to adjust to the light so if you snap it quickly you'll get a darker exposure and thus more colorful.
