Back to reality....Pirate had had a good weekend with Fife Friend, getting used to being out of hospital and back home, dealing with having a stoma..he is getting on ok with that and also finding more and more with one..or whose parent had one...
Then the first night for me in two weeks to share a bed....the sounds of someone else sleeping...
And today settling back into and old and new routine. We need to find a routine to eat smaller more frequent meals. With all sorts still going on that isn't easy.
Today Pirate had his staples removed..not the seven he expected..but sixteen! A bit of a shock to the system, as he found later when he had his afternoon walk to take a bird box to a friend..a level walk, near enough, but the wind is still cold.
We did enjoy the sunset, so the walk was worth it!
So glad he was out and about walking and to be topped by a beautiful sunset - even better
ReplyDeleteSolvitur Ambulando - it is solved by walking
...enjoy as many sunsets as you can and throw in a sunrise or two.
ReplyDeleteI read somewhere that, on average, for every hour you walk it adds 20 minutes to your life. I find that helpful when you it's cold and you don't feel like going out.
ReplyDeleteIt must be lovely to have him home.
ReplyDeleteI know a few people who have stoma’s. My daughters brother in law has one.
They do take some getting used too. But it hasn’t stopped him at all.
The photos are very pretty
Out walking! Hurrah! I loved seeing your pottery workshop photos too—wonderful the timing worked so you could go!
ReplyDeleteWelcome home, Pirate.
ReplyDeleteSo pleased to hear Pirate is home and out walking. Onwards and upwards.
ReplyDeleteIt is amazing to see Pirate walking off as if two weeks ago, he hadn't had major surgery! It sounds as if you are both successfully making the adjustments the circumstances require. Both of you deserve a pat on the back!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good recovery is taking place.
ReplyDeleteGreat to hear of changes being adapted to...both ways.
ReplyDeleteWonderful for you both that Pirate's home. Guess getting used to a new routine will take a while, but doable.. enjoy those walks.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the walks.
ReplyDeleteNew routines soon become old routines - adaptability is key.
ReplyDeleteThat all sounds positive. You are both adjusting quite quickly it seems.
ReplyDeleteWonderful to hear Pirate is home, he's doing well, you're both adapting, and you & he enjoyed a lovely walk & sunset.
ReplyDeleteStay safe, warm & well.
Lovely sky to walk under. May Pirate continue to do well. x
ReplyDeleteThe potters make astounding art. I have no gifts, it would be nice to make something. Pirate's walk is good, glad he's up and about.
ReplyDeleteSo good to read that Pirate is home, you must be so happy to have him back. There is a lot to adjust to, don't forget to keep a little pocket of time for yourself as this is a challenging time for you too :) Betty
