Gardening

I ground to a halt last night..I think that the last year caught up.on me..and with curtains shut, missed all the fun...

Today was R&R.... inaction until the afternoon!

After lunch...Leek and Potato definitely as there weren't really enough potatoes!! ( and now five servings boxed up and in the freezer)... gardening... sitting on the bench by the back door to weed plants in pots, sitting on a low stool to weed the fruit bushes in the long deep beds.

Strawberries as ground cover!

New deep beds got a cursory rake over yesterday..and today the bean row got cleared for action...not a lot of work to do that.

It still looks a bit of a mess...but little by little.

I am just doing an hour here and there.

Next step plan what will go where and sow more seeds.

  1. I think little by little, an hour here and there, sounds like a good approach! You deserve to rest as much as you need to.

  2. Do you want some Runner bean plants GZ? I only have around forty of them. Oh dear! You're more of a carpenter than I am. Nice job.👍

  4. I would love some runner bean plants Dave...but you are a bit too far away!!
My runner bean poles are the ones by the polytunnel (frame)

The other frame I had grown peas up one year..and small squash last year as an experiment.

  5. Most odd Tom...your comment was in the comments approved....but hadn't published...and wasn't in spam....but when I checked the comment itself I had to re approve it.
Glad to hear that your garden is coming along well.
Between the wet and cold weather and circumstances mine is excessively tardy!!

  6. Yours may be tardy but it is light years ahead of mine.

  7. No wonder you're exhausted! That's a lot of work and you've had a lot on your plate. But oh, the benefits you'll reap!

  8. Plants are amazingly tolerant of weather most of the time, and patient with most of human events. I need to get my chair and little potting table set up on my porch...you've reminded me to get off the computer!

  9. One step at a time. Oh, hell, I bet you've heard that a zillion times. So, make a zillion and one.

  10. Gardening should never bee work so if you do a little often it still gets done, but it’s pleasant and enjoyable

I can’t wait to see your coming harvest

  12. Your day sounds well planned. R&R for the morning and gardening the rest of the day. Your garden spaces look terrific and the soil looks rich, everything should grow well. Potato and leek is always delicious.

  13. No doubt the weather is getting warmer for you there. My vege garden is still going over Winter here, I've been harvesting broccoli, purple cabbage and rainbow spinach.

  14. The weeds grow well at this time of year, so a little attention every day is a good approach.
