I started working on some new designs yesterday, using drawing from older small sketchbooks...from 2019!!
The hole in the cardboard is the size of the small print block.
It got a bit late...only just started drawing on the lino...
The intention was to get on with it today....but I haven't got on with much atall!
And then I delivered local cards after lunch and stopped for a chat at two places...then home and ended up chatting on messenger to my cousin in Maryland state, USA..for nearly an hour.....and then to Pirate's great niece in Kent for a while!!!
So no linowork tonight.
I'll put in as good a session as I can manage on Duolingo....I have reached saying that something has just been done....and that I was doing something....this is beginning to stretch further than my school French from the 60s !!
I've invested in a yearly subscription to The Connexion as well..only €54....online English language French news'paper' with lots of interesting subjects including modern colloquialisms for learners!!
My goal next year is to improve my French - I wish I was more conversationally fluent
ReplyDeleteStart now!!....Allez Allez! As they shout in bike races!!
Delete...I've always wanted to do block printing.
ReplyDeleteGo for it....one potato..cut in half...two blocks.....
Deleteooh - love the mini sketches - perfect for printing :)
ReplyDeleteModern colloquialisms are SO important -- that's how people really speak! Good investment!
ReplyDeleteIsn’t the internet a wonderful thing. Yes there are some horrid people scamming and trying to fool people for their own ends but mostly is people connecting with family across the world or those like minded people scattered all over the globe
ReplyDeleteThere always seems to be something that gets in the way of good intentions.
ReplyDeleteYou are inspiring me!
ReplyDeleteAs you inspire others! X
DeleteYou are a talented artist and your picture of the cat which I have framed proves it.
ReplyDeleteThankyou Cat ❤️ it isn't always as easy as some people make out xx
DeleteOooooh! Where in Maryland??
ReplyDeleteCrofton
DeleteOh, "The Connexion" sounds like a good idea. That's what I missed when I was taking French -- using it in a colloquial sense. We get a French magazine for teens in our library called "Phosphore," and I read that sometimes. It was good for youthful slang!
ReplyDeleteHappy Christmas!
ReplyDeleteHow interesting! I always wondered how they made those prints.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a peaceful Christmas, gz!
