Off to Thornhill...flue bends ordered, secondhand flue collar bought....
Card Backs bought from the marvellous emporium in Castle Douglas....
A lot of driving done on a lovely day....but very tiring. Practice for the Family Visiting Trip whenever that will be.
Evening clouds.
What a lovely sky.
ReplyDeleteThose clouds look ominous.
ReplyDeleteThat evening sky is ethereal, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteI hadn't expected to see light at all...quite late too...I wonder what it would have look like without the clouds
DeleteNot done that trip in a few years, my mother-in-law lives in Kilmarnock, and when going up with friends, they would always go up, the A roads once we got to Gretna. We went up to Kilmarnock in December last year, but we took the train.
ReplyDeleteI prefer the A roads too! Although when going south it is tempting to go across on the A70 as there is a very good artisan bakery in Douglas 😎
DeleteA very moody sky!
ReplyDeleteHopefully Spring is becoming a bit more predominate for you there.
ReplyDeleteSo far so good...still chilly from late afternoon on though
DeleteI've been in that shop in Castle Douglas - it is a good one indeed!
ReplyDeleteWe used to live in the Southampton suburb of Thornhill. We visited Castle Douglas last year - it's not exactly a thriving tourist town but there were some good crafty shops.
ReplyDeleteWe used to live at the top of the slope of Highfield Lane in Southampton near the university. I'd forgotten about the Thornhill there... there's one in Cardiff too as you go up the mountain and over to Caerffili
