I took this last night.... Instagram thought that it was a commercial image.....
This morning dawned cold, wet and windy....single figure temperatures that reached the heights of 5⁰ when windchill was factored in....and it felt colder!!
So today started indoors...messaging and texting friends and rellies being supportive.
The emptiness is there but not so bad...fill the space with doing things.
I packed just over a dozen cards to go to the gallery tomorrow
Then did half an hour on the turbo trainer...after which the sun tried to shine through the clouds...and I went for a walk around the village...just another half an hour as it was still cold, but not so much as the wind had eased a little...I got a little damp but not too much!
It was sad to see all the litter...three years ago there was a push to keep the village and the approaches clear of rubbish...but it is back in force.
Talking to my friend in France, his son has been planting potatoes.....and I saw these as I prepared supper and thought....why not?! They are organic, so no chemicals or sprouting inhibitors on them....
I haven't grown tatties for years.....
Your weather does sound a tad chilly.
ReplyDeleteYour cards are beautiful. Our potato crop this year was great. I might have to increase the space next summer and get even more
There is nothing quite like 'new potatoes'. I love them.
ReplyDeleteTruly a spectacular sunset! Yes, plant those spuds! They're begging you to!
ReplyDeleteYour first photo is a winner.
ReplyDeleteBut how did you fix them?
ReplyDeleteThem?
DeleteThe tatties. Potatoes, where I come from.
DeleteTomorrow....too cold today
DeleteGood luck with your potatoes. I have just found one sprouting in my veg cupboard so that is going out into the spud plot tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteIt would be worth sowing some leeks to make leek and potato soup in winter.
ReplyDeleteI tried one lot of seed... possibly too old...try again
DeleteGreat sunset.
ReplyDeleteSpring has been on the cold side. We will appreciate warmer weather.
You've already chitted your tatties so now you just have to put them in the ground!
ReplyDeleteYes Sir!! I have one small deep bed for it...it is forecast dry on Sunday if still cold...I can do it then 🙂
DeleteWe are birds of a feather, gz, getting through hard days by keeping hands and mind busy while our hearts hurt but heal.
ReplyDeleteThe cards are lovely. I need to find some handmade notecards.
Those tatties should do very well!
The photo is so beautiful. That's sort of a compliment! I'm loving all your beautiful cards.
ReplyDeleteGrowing potatoes is definitely a good idea for you. I've never tried it as potatoes arent that expensive here.
ReplyDeleteI have never grown potatoes - sweet potatoes, yes, but they grow themselves from the compost!
ReplyDeleteEveryone commented on the potatoes, but I only see the cards: wonderful!
