No bikes today, but daughter and co brought birthday cake after lunch as it was the Boys' birthday today! We all had a piece of twin#1's cake....lemon and ginger with white chocolate icing......I wonder if they will come with Twin#2's cake request tomorrow...dark chocolate and raspberry!! They are so lucky to have a dad who is good at baking!!
So, more kiln firing...
Watching in the great hall
A talk in the lecture theatre and a discussion in Welsh on Welsh ceramic traditions and futures.
Then the exhibition of the demonstrators' work, plus that of the MC Jim Robison from Holmfirth.
Quite a varied selection of styles and subjects, which is good.
Those bowls are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI’ve been watching the great British pottery throw down. It’s got my creative juices going.
ReplyDeleteBut then I tell myself.
“Do I really need another hobby “
That question is yet to be answered
Another lovely day . . . PLUS CAKE, you lucky gal.
ReplyDeleteIt must be nice to meet a blog follower.
ReplyDeleteIt is, even briefly
DeleteI'm a ceramics pleb - I do like the Joe Finch bowls; would buy those. I'd love to get my hands into some clay but have no idea where or with whom to start.
ReplyDeleteNothing in Havelock, but....

Oh that cake sounds divine!!!
ReplyDelete((o))
ReplyDeleteGreat sounding day...cake to kilns, demonstrations, history, then seeing all those beautiful pots. I hope you come home feeling inspired!
ReplyDeleteThe pottery is wide ranging and beautiful. The various demonstrations and techniques must be very interesting. This always interests me.
ReplyDeleteHappy B-day to the twins. The cake sounds really great. Having an expert baker in the family is always ideal.
Gosh, if ever the perfect weekend was invented - this is certainly yours - family, ceramics and cycling , sea AND cake. I don't think Tam went into town because of the road race.
ReplyDeleteThe ceramics look exciting. I have just discovered Will Young, but can't afford him - even at Auction!! I had meant to go to the Ceramics festival too, but of course it clashed with Malvern.
