Ok, blogger is being contrary again! Read those pictures from the bottom up!!
The first beetroot of the year!!
Today was supposed to be ",day off" ..well there wasn't any pot making...
I packed the greenware in plastic mushroom trays, with shredded paper.
Tools got sorted a little
And returned to the workshop.
Non bike stuff went up to my study, making room to work on bikes on Tuesday in the living room.
A chilly damp day, so no incentive to do anything outside.
Evening occupation was patchwork sewing while listening..and some watching..to interesting history on YouTube!!
Lovely beetroot. Another productive day. I had to look up "greenware".
ReplyDeleteNice looking beetroot! I was just discussing beets the other night with friends -- the various ways to prepare them, whether or not they liked beet greens as well, etc.
ReplyDelete...I turned a half bushel of cucumbers into dill pickles today. Little rest for me.
ReplyDeleteI need to do some more sorting out of stuff too, especially in the stables. All those "useful bits of wood" - bits of chairs (legs, stretchers etc) which only bods like Keith would find desirable, will sadly probably end up as firewood for my new neighbour or taking a trip to the tip. Perhaps Tam and I can have a Tip run this week - not as easy as it used to be now we have to book in advance.
ReplyDeleteIs that beetroot a variety that grows naturally in that elongated shape? Mine are all short and fat!
ReplyDeleteYes, Cylindra
DeleteGreat motto: Work Hard Dream Big.
ReplyDeleteYes...that was from the Waikatō potters festival in the "welcome pack"
Deleteyay for beetroot - I always grew those cylindrical ones for bottled beetroot (in pickling vinegar - great with cheese in a sandwich. My fav sandwich in fact.)
