I got the third carful done today...and rest!
And there just happened to be these three pieces of cupboard back leaning against a skip for timber..... they look in good condition...that will do for backing lino.print blocks..... possibly with more than one layer....The weather deteriorated from then on...so I spent most of the day on light housework and sewing!
This is the back of the quilt. I've cut the Viyella for the lining, next step is to see the pieces together.
And as the wind whistled round the house ..and in the vents and keyholes...and other places I'm not sure where ...!!
I've been working on the cushion patchwork...over halfway on the fourth block now.

...I have this thing about saving good cardboard!
ReplyDeleteYes! Although this is more like MDF
Deletelol one load out - one load in! Making use of others cast offs!
ReplyDeleteYour quilt will be soft and comforting, bringing smiles while remembering who wore & when the patches were worn
A good use of a rough day.
ReplyDeleteHand sewing and really any other crafts that you can sit and do without fancy equipment are so relaxing. I especial love how it connects us to generations of women sitting and sewing.
ReplyDeleteAlways busy.

ReplyDeleteQuilt when you are done.
A lucky find.
ReplyDeleteMore wind and rain to come so your sewing will get finished quicker!
Three loads taken out is a great accomplishment.

DeleteIt must feel good to get that cleanup done, and make progress on the quilt!
ReplyDeleteIt really does...now to keep both processes rolling!!
DeleteYour quilt back is so tidy! The back of anything I make is usually a snarl. Well done!
ReplyDeleteThat's just what I was going to say! I'm always happy that you can't see the back of my efforts.
