October has slipped in quietly with days too hot to garden in the afternoons.
I've started doing casual light gardening as a paid job. Enough to breathe a little easier and buy some things that are needed. Not enough to squeeze out anything else!
'Too hot to garden in the afternoon'....in Wales in October. Not something you say very often, I'm sure. But probably as hot as here, where we're running at about 30 today. Enjoy it while you can. Mug arrived in London on Friday morning, thanks. No problems. J collected it before leaving for W Wales and here.
Autumn indeed! I hear you're having what we colonists call an 'Indian Summer'. I love the pix, especially the sky and the lone tree in the field. Evocative. Congrats on the new job.
Your garden and ceramics are just beautiful. So pleased I found you. Yes, I hear you are having great weather over there...wonderful!
I smiled when you wrote about expecting pears to give a 'proper amount' (my words) when canning. Yup..a load of tomatoes cooked down to four cups tonight... ;-( A lot of work for four cups of tomato jam.
Hi, I've removed word verification...so if all goes well I'll leave it off..... Please leave a pebble in the pool ((o)) even if you don't want to comment, it is nice to see where you all come from! Thanks!

Gorgeous misty photos bringing out the beauty of nature at this time of year and tying in neatly with a post I've just done. It is a bit hot though!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos: especially the second one of the tree. It screams autumn, but in a good way!
