  2. Some great Pboxes there, very enjoyable. It's these sort of simple different things that are always interesting in other parts, I find! Love the idea of moving house, literally. They do that in Sweden too, where wooden houses can be uprooted and put on low-loaders. Often see houses for sale with the proviso that they must be moved by buyers! Great idea. Always made me smile.

  7. And here, where the postie comes all the way to your door, mailboxes at the gate are virtually unknown.
I like the idea of movable housing. My boss, back in Iceland, was given an old house, but on the proviso that he moved it off its original site.
Well, he managed to buy a plot in Reykjavik, to put it on, and so they loaded it onto a big truck, and set off the hundred or so kilometres to the city....

Only thing is, there's a bridge, at Sellfoss, which has cross-beams above the road. And the little house was too high. And, there's no other route.
So the truck's tyres were de-aired, which dropped it a bit, and then, two men on the roof, removing the ornate metal ridgework, and the metal dragons... yes, dragons, it's a viking world out there, eventually, with much scraping and cussing, the house was squeezed through. I think it's a little restaurant now.

Can I reblog your v8 engine postbox? It's my favourite!
