We did a long steady ride today, including a road called Scotsman Valley.
It was quite hot and windy, but we didn't rush, and enjoyed ourselves. Although we hadn't planned on doing nearly 90 km!!
The scenery is quite a home from home!! (and so are many of the road names!!)
That is an over riding memory of our trip in New Zealand - the number of British sounding names, but it is the same in a number of ex colonies, South Africa and Zimbabwe (to a lesser degree) also have a lot of names taken by colonists as a memory to their home lands.
