Staying safe

In other words keeping busy, making kitchen hand towels..half a dozen, from old towels. To teach the Pirate to use a fresh one every day!!
While I wait for my turn on the easier turbotrainer.
No point going out in sideways rain showers. I have no wish to get soaked or blown off my bike.
We might go for a short walk later. For a change of air.
Or I might stay in the warm and bake!!

  3. Similar happenings here, sewing and baking. No walking though, the rain has been torrential all day and looks to be set in for a while longer :)

  5. I wonder if I'll ever feel comfortable walking about outside again. But baking is going well - chocolate cakes for the kind people who have been supporting me in isolation.

  6. Baking sounds good to me. And smells good. And tastes good. What's not to like!

  7. Little jobs that don't take up the day can be dispiriting!

  8. Sounds like a good scheme to me. Wish I had my crank handle sewing machine down here, there is something about turning the handle when you sew, especially for things like hand towels, pillow cases etc...

Still no rain here, but plenty of wind!

  9. Good choices!
I got out my little featherweight Singer a few days ago to make some masks. Since then I have found many small things that need mending. I may actually make myself a few pairs of summer shorts, rather Hobbit pants.

  10. Hve you had much of a Summer there yet or are you feeling like winter still? My mother use to have the same sewing machine, it got well used.

  11. Brilliant idea... hand towels halved. I just can’t bring myself to chuck out the hard hair shirt efforts that pass as hand towels in this gaff. Maybe just maybe I could bestir myself enough to cull the bald, flat and ugly ones, or at the very least rejuvenate them by cutting them down to size? Show ‘em who the boss is type of thing!

  12. Baking and sewing go on here in normal times but have really intensified with the pandemic. Maybe we bake, not only for comfort food, but for the comforting aroma of something yummy in the oven. Helps us to hang onto 'normal!'
