We had two nights at Balclutha..another good small town, like any town these days, hanging in there.
However a big new community hub is being built near the town end of the bridge... hopefully a good sign.
We went for a little TikiTour up by the river, found our first one lane bridge of this time in Aotearoa NZ! Then across the hills to Lawrence and back down the Mānuka Gorge on SH8. Just by the road is the Otago gold mountain bike trail. It looks as if a lot of work is going on developing that.
It is certainly a big river!!
We had such a comfortable place to stay...that we stopped for two nights!!
Then off again north...
