Better late than never

 We went to the community hall and café this morning to finalise arrangements for Sunday..and to celebrate what would have been Pirate's 85th birthday with a long black and a chocolate muffin ❤️ 

Then on to Maybole, the nearest town to speak to people we knew well when we lived in Kirkmichael.

This is a view over the Girvan valley from across the main street 

This afternoon I realised that the garden is steadily growing..a lot later than others..but slowly getting there...



A case of Must Do Better Next Year..but thankful for what I am getting this year!

I have been discussing with my brother how to insulate my workshop ready for the winter...he has done a lot of the work on his home so has a lot of knowledge and skills..

We get the tape measure out tomorrow!

    My winter garden got off to a bad start. We and a burst of summer weather and it all bolted and went straight to seed. I have replanted. But as yet we have not harvested. I’m hoping for a late harvest at least.
    Even the poor plants don’t know what’s going on with this crazy weather.
    Can’t wait to see your work space once it all set up

    Your garden is more advanced than ours. The only crop that is doing well at the moment is our little apple tree.

    It's good to see progress in your garden GZ. There is still lots of winter crops that can be planted like kale, swedes, Autumn King carrots, leeks, spring cabbage and winter onions.

    Dave I might go for some brassicas...I have only seen one cabbage white butterfly this year...hardly any others too.
