Weekend and meeting again

Saturday the thermostat was fitted, so we took a run down to Girvan to check it.....working fine!

Sat on the prom in the car watching Ailsa Craig play "now you see me , now you don't".....and drive back home...at least I went along the two different roads along the Girvan Valley!!

Sunday we were up and out early (ish!) and drove down to Cally Woods in the Cally Palace estate at Gatehouse of Fleet.

There we met friends that we haven't seen since 1996 when they left Garn Dolbenmaen, two years before we did!!

She used to childmind #3 and #4 in exchange for grazing for her Shetland sheep on my spare fields.

They were there with their two children, now 39 and 37 ( ?) and their dog, an English Setter who was itching to get going!

A good walk ensued..and we found a motte as well!!

Then to the Iron Brew café in Gatehouse for drinks and cakes and more talk!!

I had a short wander around the town with The Oily One...I need to get back there early one nice morning with the camera...

Back home through rain showers and time for a late lunch and relax.

  10. Isn’t it lovely when you meet long time friends.
Beautiful scenery and wow. What a narrow hallway. I think I’d have to get rid of the Christmas padding to fit through that

  14. Rather grand entrance for the town hall - does the rest of the edifice live up to its introduction?

  16. A busy time, and great to catch up with old friends! So she would have been The Oily One's child-minder, right?

    1. No, Oily One was 15, the MD 14....she looked after the Geek, then 10 and the Carpenter 7 years old....by the time they left....started three years previously...they had been playing with her two already ( nearer the age of my older two) Initially the older two came home from school to get then they all walked home across our fields

  17. Sounds like a fun weekend! I always love a trip to a local cafe or pub to enjoy a few drinks and treats with friends. I need it this time of year more than any. Snow on the ground isn't the best thing for a carpet cleaner like me haha But at least we do have more time on the weekends to relax with friends. Thanks for sharing!

  18. A busy day! Nothing like having a dog along on a walk. They just seem to make it more fun.
