No picture today...three of us met at our coach's house and headed out for an easy(for them!) ride. We started uphill...with a tail wind!!
Apparently although I have lost speed I still have my riding style!! Which is some consolation.
We stopped at a friend's house where his father, Pirate's great oppo now lives, for a rest and drinks. A most welcome rest!
Then back down Brunswick hill into Aramoho...I'm not sure which I like least, downhill or uphill!!..but I did it ok.
The wind was icy today, so only 12⁰ this morning and 15⁰ by lunchtime!! Things got better later....and while the washing was on I had a sleep...and then the clothes dried nicely in the sun and breeze.
While they carried on drying I did more sewing on the Shirts quilt...sewing together the strips to make a block. Half done and I need more thread.
Ironing done after supper and all tidy.
Tired after doing that ride, but a step in the right direction.
Another good day. It sounds quite cool down there. Is it still summer?
ReplyDeleteYes it is summer..but not quite as usual
Delete...may the wind be always at your back.
ReplyDeleteThat uphill start with a tailwind must have been both frustrating and amusing—though at least the downhill ride into Aramoho probably gave you a bit of a breather, even if it’s not your favorite! It’s great that your riding style is still intact, even if your speed has slowed.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like a pleasant, productive afternoon with the sewing on the quilt and the clothes drying in the sun. It's good that you're taking those steps, even if you're tired from the ride. Resting and getting things tidied up afterward must have felt like a good reward for the effort!
I hope you manage to get more thread soon to finish your quilt block. Keep up the good work!
Sounds like a fun, energizing outing!
ReplyDeleteTired but a GOOD tired xx
ReplyDeleteGood for you! It sounds like a tough ride. I bet you get your speed back soon.
ReplyDeleteOppo took quite a bit of searching out! Good gravy woman...all that work? Don't begrudge that body a nap!!!
ReplyDeleteYour ride sounds like a mix of challenge and ease. Well done completing the circuit. What is your style?
ReplyDeleteI think he means sitting on the bike and being efficient and looking easy on a bike
DeleteIt does sound like NZ is the breath of fresh air needed - and ridiculously cold for Summer, so just like home :D
ReplyDeleteI try to dry my washing outside as much as I can except when it's raining it comes inside on a hanger. I've heard parts of the country haven't had much of a Summer so far, ours has been boiling.
ReplyDeleteNot here it hasn't!! But it is looking up
DeleteWhat a busy day!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good day. I was surprised at your temperature.
ReplyDeleteIt could be better, but it is nice to be dry...I've seen that you might have some rain on the way...it looks very dry where you are
DeleteWell done (for me it's definitely the downhill I like least) and the sleep afterwards is essential these days. You carry patchwork projects around with you?!😲
ReplyDeleteA bit of sewing is good relaxing!
DeleteYou know the area well. NZ seems to have lots to offer, and the weather is good for biking, hiking, and enjoying the outdoors.
ReplyDeleteI'd rather have a tailwind than a headwind heading up that hill -- and I'll bet you were just flying on the way down! It sounds like a wonderful day -- good times, good people.
