Thursday

Not quite so warm to start with...back into jeans... although by the time I'd wrangled the housework into submission ( after a late start) it was pleasantly warm outside!!

The car is still sitting out there....so plan B will be next week.  Weekend cancelled.

This afternoon was gardening again...edge trimming the front path, clearing, edging by the side of the house and tidying around there.

It is back to hoolie-gan weather, moving up from the south for a change.

If I get a break in the weather tomorrow there will be more garden tidying!

I need to radically sort the plants in pots...those that have survived two years of neglect!!

  3. Garden work here too, but had to quit by 10, just too hot. Seems like the work is never-ending!

  4. It's supposed to be pouring rain here tomorrow. There too?

  5. There is no end to gardening. Take it from me. And my weeds!

  6. Ah, plants in pots. Yes, have a few of those, including lots I grew from seed which need potting on/planting out. Yesterday's steady heavy rain was NOT the day for it though! My yard desperately needs as many weeds hoiking out as possible as they have spread across the stones now too. I'll do a bit of that today, easier after the rain.

  7. You are much further along than I am. The yard and very overgrown gardens look more like a poorly managed hayfield. Off to buy a new lawn mower today although a few goats might be more appropriate!
Toes crossed the car gets sort3d, one way or another.

  8. ...gardening is like house work, it never ends.

  9. Tackling all your garden jobs is lots of work. The garden is looking well cared for. Today is cloudy and cool a good day to mow. Tomorrow is to rain. 13 weekends of rain!

  10. Same here. 80s one day, 60s the next. And wet. Then not. then wet again. I'm sure there's summer coming out there somewhere.

  11. Our chance of rain is 100 percent -- "heavy downpours"!

  12. Wet is not fun when you are limited to bike or shanks' pony. Our yard is looking a little meadow-like at the moment - but we are in a cold snap and I don't see daylight often at either end of my work day.

  13. You seem to have a very big garden to care for.

    1. It would be bigger without the sheds!!
I suppose it is a fairly normal 1940s plot, when they expected people to use their gardens for growing and clothes drying. Seeing it bit by bit does make it seem bigger!!
