Bro on his way early yesterday morning for the ferry to Ireland .
It feels rather empty now he has gone!
I got on with much needed potting on and planting out in the garden.
Not good news possibly about my car...the one who was supposed to be helping mend my car wrote off one of my garage man's cars last Saturday...and hasn't been contactable....we'll just have to see if he turns up today.....
Meanwhile I'm still walking... pavements (sidewalks to some!) around the village this time...
Then evening views at 10pm
Safe travels to your brother. That's a nice photo of him.
ReplyDeleteIt is still light up here in these parts well into the night..then sunrise around 4:30 a.m. so we have the blinds down now in the bedroom, but I miss looking up at the sky!
I'd love to have the curtains open..but those damnable security lights...searchlights more like...!!
DeleteOh dear I hope the mechanic turns up.
ReplyDeleteAAARRRGGHHH!!! the car. Toes crossed it's fixable and soon!
ReplyDeleteBro looks ready for anything.
He certainly is!!
DeleteWhat does 'wrote off' mean?
ReplyDeleteIt means that it is uneconomical to repair, according to the insurance company
DeleteAre there any other options for getting the car fixed? This is sounding a bit long and drawn out. Good thing you can walk and bike.
ReplyDeleteNo-one in the village with the facilities and I wouldn't trust the two that are vaguely near. There is one I have heard of with a good reputation..but he is ten miles away
DeleteI only buy good compost these days. The cheap discount supermarket compost is just made of crushed bark. I like a loan based compost like John Innes number 3.
ReplyDeleteJohn Innes mixes are good, and Peat free
DeleteI bought Wickes compost last time and I'll never do it again. It's like crushed twigs.
DeleteI hope the car gets sorted without too much trouble!
ReplyDeleteSo do I
DeleteOh dear! What is Plan B on the car front? So nice to have a good visit from your brother.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to have longer warmer nights. I hope you get the car sorted, sounds like a worry
ReplyDeleteIt is, combined with the bus strike
DeleteIt's hard when family leaves, isn't it? Especially when you like them! That's a super photo. I hope all works out with the car.
ReplyDeleteSomehow I suspect only you would notice and photograph asphalt like crocodile skin. I love the blue on your potting bench - speaks of bleached colours in seaside sunshine. Your Bro reminds me how much I miss my motorbike and the occasional bout of exhilaration.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter complains sometimes that we notice the same things! She is also an artist, a graphic designer
DeleteNice picture of your brother. I know you must miss his company.
ReplyDeleteYour plants look great, so healthy!
And that light at 10pm? Wow.
Being without a car is not easy, especially when you need to travel good distances in all kinds of weather. I hope Plan B is successful.
