Garden...and book

Carrying on and preparing for next year.... weeding leeks, starting to move the strawberry plants to make room for the garlic later on.

Courgettes still growing slowly...if the polytunnel had a cover I'd have put them in there...no room in the greenhouse.

Self sown sunflowers each end of the bean row!!

And Fresca asked what was the book I went to buy...

  1. Good to see your courgettes still going strong. Ours have expired!

  2. That book will be an interesting read.
My zucchini has been odd this year. We are usually overrun with it but this year we justvgetbonebor two here and there. Thevyellow squash, though, is more than plentiful! Strange.

  3. Your garden is still producing even at the end of the season.
    The new book sounds outstanding.

  4. It’s been a busy year in your garden.
Courgettes, zucchini we call it, grows so very well here that
We only plant one or two of them
By the end of summer we are all very sick of them
They do freeze well. I just chop them up and stick them in a little zip lock bag
Then during winter I just add some to all the stews and crock pot meals.

    1. That was my idea.. but only one survived and that is slow this year. Plus the squashes took an age to get going..now I don't know if any will ripen enough to eat

  5. Thanks for showing the book—it looks special—not something available everywhere!

  6. PS. The cover photo of hands on clay is so appealing, so elemental—It occurred to me it’s kind of like gardening – – digging in the dirt!
