Keeping our heads down

More showers today, and further South 48 older people rescued from a flooded home, 40 from houses and three from a car.

They are watching the tides tonight as it is full moon and the nearest the moon will be all this year...

We are fortunate being near the top of a mountain!

Flooding has been further north as well in Cumbria and Southwest and central Scotland.  I haven't managed to see how Cornwall fared..but there was a yellow weather warning there as well.

We have sat in the house, done indoors things, he went to collect something in Rhydaman....but in their van...so was safer where the water was across the road.

One grandchild (8) also had rugby practice in the early evening..but on a pitch built in sand so well drained!!

I have looked at the route for the next section of travelling...and I should be ok

900 miles done, 400 to go....

And here is another member of the family...

A venerable (12 years old) Labrador.

The last member is a rather elusive white and black cat ..called Smudge...

Oh dear, flooding is so awful. And no doubt Smudge does not want to appear on camera for legal reasons.

It's been pretty bad - E still working in Carmarthen so Danny still having to brave dark wet roads to ferry her back and forth, as buses not running yesterday.

What a lovely old dog. Glad you are perched higher up there.

This is so very sad and so frightening. I'm glad you are safe now where you are and hope your home is too. (Or is that your home?) At any rate, I'm glad you're safe.

400 miles to home....and no messages from next door's daughter...so I think it is still ok

Sounds pretty dire over there, gz. I hate flooding; we have it often enough in my state, just devastating. I hope everyone is safe over there. Safe travels, gz.
