Monday....

Washing day....clothes on a rack and the dehumidifier nearby....

To Ayr by bus....I had my eye on some cotton  footless tights from Lidl as I'd bought some and they are comfortable...none left my size..bother!!

I needed to get out of the house....cabin fever!! And the latest block was a fail...

Funny how the initial line drawing works!!

So today's exercise was a walk around town. Until the fine rain started...

This afternoon's work was making up two different glazes.. hopefully a dark blue and a soft mid green with the texture of an eggshell.  If I didn't make a mistake when measuring....if what is in the jars, is what it is supposed to be!!

I was thinking of going to the Grands Feux in La Borne next year...then I found the price ...€975 for the week...I don't think that I'll manage that...plus food, lodgings and travel!!

A gîte for a week in a town further South, low season, looks a better bet though...and something I could manage by myself and on public transport.   Something to think about!!

Today was a day for thinking as it drizzled outside, and went dark as supper was made.

I'm trying to think of there has ever been somewhere that I've ever completely fitted in........

Wash, rinse, repeat....

Which is what Storm Amy has been doing all day!!

Blawin a hoolie and chucking water all over the place!!

They are all attached, so I should still get seeds.

Packaging was successfully sorted yesterday, so I did have my own bed back!!

Today I carried on sorting...bike stuff in boxes back to the sewing ( crossed out) bike room...and as it had been organised for the bike jumble it took less room and I could shift the rest of it from the living room...and make that a room for living!!

The radiators are less cluttered so that the heat reaches the room...but all surfaces are full...I ran out of steam on the job...that will be tackled tomorrow...it isn't forecast so windy, but will still be wet!!

I washed Pirate's work jackets, overalls and blizzard suit...padded overalls..they will be handy if we get really cold weather,  and despite their age and amount of use, the work clothes that FedEx provided for him were good quality.

Then some video watching, of the world masters track championships from  the Stab Velodrome in Roubaix. Good to see friends from all over the world doing well.

I miss seeing them and helping, and the atmosphere. But I don't miss the stress of racing and training and not having time for other things!

What a week!

 Monday....collect and deliver work...

Tuesday...catch up on housework, gardening, pack the cards made so far, fail to get another design made...and find that I'd muddled myself on the gallery rota, and read it incorrectly..I was in the next day!

Wednesday..wet and windy, washing machine weather... without the drying cycle..so limited footfall in the gallery . First day this autumn to wear a jumper...and one sale in the gallery...at least it was one of my own prints!!

Left phone in gallery.....lack of uninterrupted sleep in case I'd left it elsewhere...and gallery days wipe me out...busy or not...

Thursday.. thankfully I had left the phone in the gallery! Into Ayr for a bit of shopping and a restorative cuppa..found a jigsaw for a seasonal present..and it was reduced!!

Saw some letterboxes...

Odd that there are no initials by the crown..

No lino for printing in any shop....and I've run out...or can't find it in the guggle that is the studio/spare bedroom.

Glaze materials arrived safely... realised that I'd forgotten to get potters' association membership discount...5% still helps...

Football on the radio for 5 hours 😳 instead of music....CD player not working properly...

Today....hunt the tubs for glazes as my 10-15 year old tubs have degraded...

It was rather damp out...

Cafés seem to be getting dry ingredients in bags and reusing tubs...which is good...scored four long tubs where a café bought in ice cream...and five 11 litre storage boxes with lids from the DiY store..a good use of shelf space as opposed to round...

And get home as Storm Amy rolls in....

And I'm sorting boxes and packing in my bedroom...I'm not going out in Storm Amy!!

If I haven't finished them by tonight I'll be sleeping on the spare (air)bed in the study!!!

Moving my work

Yesterday was the day to pack up the work from the Barony Centre exhibition, and return it to the Smiddy Gallery at Culzean.

Quite a long day...and added up to a lot of driving in the end...about ninety miles..but at least it was mostly dry at each stop made.

Sadly no sales ..but the display at the Smiddy is looking healthier now!

The blacksmith (Ben Wynn) had made a new display for the glass artist (Andrew Barham) to display his suncatchers. The other pieces are made by Andrew as well.

Not my photo...but what gets put on our group chat turns up in my photos thanks to goggle...(I do a lot of deleting otherwise my allowance would get filled up even faster!)

Back home..and my neighbour had rescued my washing as the wind had been strong enough to dislodge the prop to the line! No damage to line or prop and the washing was safe on the line...and nicely "ironing dry".. probably not for the first time in the day!!

Then the second batch of juice bottling and processing, and a combined quick leftovers supper...potatoes and runner beans from the garden with pinto beans in tomato sauce ( made with home-grown onions and garlic)

Apple juice result

It is a lovely colour.. halfway through producing the next batch now...

Definitely Autumn...they are actually more yellow than they look here.

A month since I returned from France...I have been so busy...and remiss...I have a few letters waiting to be written!! And emails...but proper physical letters mean so much more.

Today's job first is get the clean washing on the line...then collect my pots from the September exhibition in the Barony Gallery in West Kilbride.

Slow progress

That's the last of this batch waiting to be done...gold and red on the tree, silver snow on the ground and Season's Greetings in gold!

Simple but special.

I took the cockerel picture from France to be framed in Ayr, and he did it while I had a wander around town. I'll photograph it tomorrow..he did a good job.

Ayr is in a sorry state...but so are many towns.  Some bits are being restored though

But on the other side of the road...

And beside it...

The 1970s police hq being demolished.

For a few years the police have been in an old Victorian school building....a lovely brick built one, in good condition...says it all.....

Hopefully the council will build homes on the site...as although the building was transferred to Strathclyde police with the rejig of the counties in the 70s....the council quietly retained the land.....
