Today was the collective's meeting in the gallery...get together, see where we are and what needs doing!

The set out of the gallery is changing. Making it more likely, hopefully that people will come in and browse at least...

Then lunch at the cafe there and off to a certain DiY store...more paint samples and a set of legs to lift a plinth to a better height.

Home again, and I might be getting a few sales of bike equipment. They needed listing and photographing

It feels odd....even though I wont race again..I know there are some my age and older still racing.   But obviously their body doesn't say "Why?" when they go to race and train!!  And racing is their hobby.

Whereas riding s bike has been something I've always done...and the racing was fun ..but extra....and I am a potter who wants to pot...a needlewoman who wants to ply her needle...a gardener who needs to grow.

You can't do it all....especially when you are alone.

  1. And you’re allowed to make a change - memories will always be there

  2. It sounds as though you are getting your priorities in the right order.

  3. I think we all shift our priorities as we aged. I never thought I would stop storytelling, or that I'd be selling antiques and vintage, although I have always wanted to. I thought when I retired I'd be out there performing more, and writing more. But instead here I am, happily staying close to home, gardening, and minding my booths!

  5. Racing is a bit extreme but a good bike ride id enjoyable.

  6. I imagine that part of your racing memories are centered around the time spent with your Pirate. Your life has changed a great deal. You are allowed to make changes to accommodate this new life.

  7. Still its hard to see it go when you've spent years putting it together. When we moved some things just had to be culled (my snowboarding gear hurt even tho i hadn't used it for about 10 years)

  8. End of an era - like me and that particular Antiques Fair. I have other things I can do as well. Gardening needs to be a priority this year!!

  9. There are things you can do and don't have to/don't want to/ don't need to. I've had to learn the hard way - you can not be all things to all men and some days are definitely just for me.

  10. I think it makes sense to refocus on what matters most to you.

  11. Shifting priorities to meet your needs sounds fine to me.
We all change and doing things we enjoy best is the ideal.
