Learning

 French conversation this afternoon.

I arrived half an hour early...and so did our tutor!! It was good to chat...in French.

I find it much easier one to one, rather than in a class ...and no pressure to "converse" !

Also the room in the library isn't small with hard surface walls. like the Alliance Française...you can imagine what that did to my ADHD brain!!

Learning about how I function ..or not as the case may be!!

Only six of us this time, as three

are on holiday. Our homework for a fortnight's time? Using the various ways of saying "many"....write some sentences.Should be fun!!

Just before the bus stop, my next village up friend was in the car park with her husband ..and I got a lift home....very welcome indeed.Despite the sunny periods today the wind is chilly. Now it has been rising steadily for a few hours..not up to gale force yet...and we are forecast overnight rain.

  2. That was a lucky lift home. Bring back the sun - we have gone from low 20s mid-week to just 5 degrees and rain today :(

  4. ahhh - so what's your hyperfocus? I agree that language learning progresses much faster one to one with someone who a) doesnt care if I have limited vocab and make grammatical errors and b) can't switch to my prefered language - children are ideal.

  6. The only way I can think of to say "many" is beaucoup. Or maybe "trop" but that's more like "too much." Let us know what you come up with!

  7. You are making great progress with your French language skills. When in France, having conversational skills will be beneficial.
Your iPhone might also have translation ability as friends traveling tell me their phones are helpful when they are in another country and not native speakers.

  8. Good on you for learning French, I think about the only things I can remember are how to introduce myself, say what country I'm from, say goodbye, say thank you, say hello, order chocolate bread, order a coffee and ask where if this is the bus to the swimming pool.

Hi, I've removed word verification...so if all goes well I'll leave it off.....
Please leave a pebble in the pool ((o)) even if you don't want to comment, it is nice to see where you all come from!
Thanks!
