Monday....

Washing day....clothes on a rack and the dehumidifier nearby....

To Ayr by bus....I had my eye on some cotton  footless tights from Lidl as I'd bought some and they are comfortable...none left my size..bother!!

I needed to get out of the house....cabin fever!! And the latest block was a fail...

Funny how the initial line drawing works!!

So today's exercise was a walk around town. Until the fine rain started...

This afternoon's work was making up two different glazes.. hopefully a dark blue and a soft mid green with the texture of an eggshell.  If I didn't make a mistake when measuring....if what is in the jars, is what it is supposed to be!!

I was thinking of going to the Grands Feux in La Borne next year...then I found the price ...€975 for the week...I don't think that I'll manage that...plus food, lodgings and travel!!

A gîte for a week in a town further South, low season, looks a better bet though...and something I could manage by myself and on public transport.   Something to think about!!

Today was a day for thinking as it drizzled outside, and went dark as supper was made.

I'm trying to think of there has ever been somewhere that I've ever completely fitted in........

  1. I think you fit in here. In blogland. We are all misfits walking to the beat of our own drums.

  2. Good grief! "...ever completely fitted in..."? I think you fit in quite well everywhere you go! France, Scotland, New Zealand? Have you ever failed? Cheer up, my friend, that bloody rain won't last forever and perhaps your attitude can get more sunny, too! 😍

  3. Your last sentence surprised me, and yet I understand the feeling. I often feel that way myself. Definitely didnt fit in northern Virginia, moved here but if you aren't born in West Virginia, you will never really be from here. I felt very at home in Ireland when we visited but I expect it would be the same there as it is here.

  4. Oh my gosh, Gz! You are a wonderfully gifted artist, with the creative mind of an artist. Perhaps your gift is observing. Maybe you gift is learning new things. Perhaps you are meant to inspire others. All I know is that you get all over the place, and you seem to run into friends everywhere, something that I admire about you.

  5. Blimey, that wouldn't be a cheap holiday!! I hope you can organize it more cheaply. Well done to you for being happy to travel about footloose and fancy free.

  7. Do you think the block print might be salvageable? Maybe the block just needs to be cut more? (I have no idea how these things work!)

I agree with the others -- you are a perfect fit for art and certainly for blogland. :)

    1. I'll give the block one more chance, Steve. It is just so clunky compared to the inspiration!!
