Spiders....and design

I went on a walk later yesterday afternoon looking for ivy leaves....I didn't want to make an image with ivy in it and get it wrong!

But I saw a beautiful sight...

Spiders' webs!!

And starlings beginning to gather before they roost

Then I got down to the job...which bit by bit I finished today...

I'll stick to just the two designs...

Nothing produced, as there was a meeting of the artists' collective this evening.
Meeting a couple of new members...and finding out who will be moving on at the end of the year. Sorting Xmas opening...

And the first time for a long time that I have driven home in the dark!!

Sweet robin singing in the ivy!

I really like that design, gz. The webs are kind of creepy to me. So thick!

That Robin is just gorgeous! You did a great job with that. I love it with the water color. I think it is my favorite of your prints. I have never in my life seen anything like those spider webs! I can't get over the sheer size of them. So what kind of spider makes this web and how do they get from one shrub to another???

I think they are there all the time...and the webs are.over slightly longer grassland. The sheep hadn't been in the field for a few days to disturb them as well

Just think how many midgies they are catching!! Not thick, just gossamer fine

It is a long time since I have seen such a mass of spider's webs as that. Great photo. Love your little Robin too. I would love to learn how to do lino cutting . . .

The spiders' webs on the grass makes such a wonderfully typical autumn scene. A great photo.

We’re just at that lovely stage of thinking- oh it’s 7pm and we haven’t needed the light on. Days are getting longer….just wish it would get warmer.

I also wondered at the food source for so many spiders! Glad they are balancing out nature somehow. Love your art!!

I've never seen a massive spider web like the one in your photo. Did you see any spiders? The web had to be the work of many spiders.
Lovely new print.

Great spider webs - i like the idea they are like set nets to scoop up midges. Your new print went well - i like it as well without paint as with it - two styles

I think that I will do an almost paint free version..in itself it is version #2 as the original was a wren....which fewer people would pick up on as being relevant to the winter celebration...I could return to that

Fabulous photo of the spider webs - you caught it really well! (I understand that spiders 'balloon' like this if the ground is too wet - or something???) And I love your print as well - it looks like you got the Ivy just right!

It was rather wet..
Thanks...such a simple shape but deceptively difficult!
