An odd day

I'm not the best of sleepers, so today, although starting at a decent time, started rather slow...but Nectarine conserve got finished...there was half a pint of water on the recipe that didn't get added...but so much juice came out overnight I don't think that it was needed!

After lunch I went round the garden aiming to make sure that there was nothing lying around that storm winds could have fun with!!

Bug!!
Tomato jungle
Yellow courgettes/zucchini
Oregano/Marjoram
Runner beans
At last!
Kale seeds...the Blackbirds are enjoying them
Comte de Chambord...I brought this one indoors

And fragrant Munstead Wood..two blooms on the bush, but about to drop their petals.

My sinuses and eyes are reacting to something..it isn't a "cold" as it isn't constant...I know what one of those is like although I haven't had one for a very long time. It is most tiresome.

And tomorrow we can say good morning to a storm....

Mmmm, I bet those nectarine conserves are wonderfully delicious!

Beautifully arranged legs on that bug. Your roses are enviable. I suspect roses here would end up as possum food - it only takes one possum one night to devastate months of nurturing.

The storm has just brushed past us here. I hope it bends around you 🤞

It doesn't seem to be doing much bending at the moment....there are a few tree branches that have been hanging since the last storms here, I wouldn't be surprised to see them down this time

Roses grow so well in NZ.....but yes, if you are surrounded by possum country, the only place you could grow them would be a fruit cage!!
It is nice, though, to cycle around the vinerys around Marlborough and still see the roses at the end of rows of vines...being the equivalent of the canary in the mine

Nectarine conserve, yum! It looks lovely in the jars.
That was a nice garden walk. It is so satisfying to see things setting on, isn't it?
Hope the storm isn't too bad.

Wishes for light storm damages...just clearing of deadwood. It's great to see all your garden productions, as well as nectarine conserves. Roses are beautiful!

Your garden is looking good and providing a nice harvest.
Hopefully the storm and wind will not do too much damage.
