Samedi Le 23 Aout

So much we'd love to do...but it is good to relax, go with the flow , do ordinary things..be laid back and not rush.

I can't see everything and everyone..this time!

Harvesting this morning, before the produce got too warm...so that it will stay fresh...

Tomatoes, apples, sweetcorn... little potatoes from the store shed. A stalk of mint to draw!

Friend's younger son and partner came over from Limoges to see the progress...he helps a little in the garden when he can. Then we all went out for lunch. The first place didn't open as expected, where we had been before, in an old tannery...so we went to a restaurant called le gantier...the glove maker....Tanning , leather and glovemaking were traditions in this area.

A relaxing afternoon, then out to see some of Sant Brice's football game at S.Laurent sur Gorre.

We went earlier to stop on the way...

And a short walk around the small town of Sant Laurent. There is a lot of restoration going on in the town....and local companies are assisting...with an incentive...for doing this they get tax concessions. A win-win situation!

An awesome dolmen and small standing stone! Beautiful restoration work in the town!

I would have found the archaeology very interesting - love dolmens. That's a big old capstone they heaved up on it.

The town looks lovely too. I hope it's not too hot where you are.

Doors and windows…..wondering what’s behind them.

All so very French! Beautiful. We saw similar dolmens when we visited Guernsey - which of course used to belong to France.
That is a nice photo of you x

I love those ancient capped rocks and the less ancient doors. I have a fascination with doors and portals - would paint (pictures of) old doors for ever. Would put weathered old doors on my barn if I could find some here. The architect wanted to create some - you can't 'create' decades of sun on layers and layers of century old paint
