I'm here in South Ayrshire...no job as yet, and no benefits either....you have to go through the steps, Yes, I knew I wouldn't get the first type based on contributions.....but you have to follow the system and can't miss a step.
It feels like a Snakes and Ladders game at times. I want to support myself, but until I can it gets stressful. It is like treading a minefield and the wrongly worded or phrased answer can get you back "down the snake" instead of "up the ladder". Even if you're still giving the same information that phrased the "correct" way would mean success. Ho, Hum....
Still, despite cold (hailstorms!) wet and windy weather the earth is warming and smells good, House Martins are on the wires and the woodpecker is drumming.
We're getting out by car and by bike to see friends and places.
I've applied for a gallery job, but age might tell against me, even though it shouldn't.
I've got the job experience, but no degree....
Blogging will be intermittent until we can get a landline....

Best of luck with your job search. It's not right for age to be a detractor, especially since in most instances maturity will make you the best candidate.
Sending best wishes on job hunt. Isn't it something that ageism is still rampant. Remember when you were asked during interviews if you planned to have children? I do. And don't lose your enthusiasm...drink a cup of it every day.
I wish you success, and lots of it.
Good luck in your new life...Employers should realize that the more 'mature' applicants are sometimes more committed and responsible employees.
All good wishes for the job and the new life up there.
I wish you courage and fortitude.
I've chucked a few pepples in to make up for my hibernating habits ... been catching up with your blog and it is a wonderful story and I'm so glad for you. I have one of your little green pots on my special chest btw so I never really forgot you!
Keep on keeping on.
As for age counting against, experience and wisdom should be a positive.
In my case age and are not mutually inclusive, I think I'm as stupid as I was long ago, just now I'm prepared to admit it!
I'm away to Usk, next weekend.
Keep smiling.
Good luck with the job. I know what you mean about age - it shouldn't matter - but you know it does - I hope you settle into your new home.
