River walk

A little wander by the water meadows in Penkridge....250 miles driven so far. I am no longer going to do the journey to Somerset in one day!!

Classics

After helping at a race in Fife on Sunday, we travelled two miles north..to a very large field.. full of pre 1999 vehicles of every kind....

We saw this 1948 Ford car next to us in the parking field..

And afterwards I went with Pirate for a ride on my 1948 vehicle.....

Mowing

Our meadow patch had its cut...and Pirate cut our neighbour's front lawn as well..

He keeps an eye out for us, shares the bargains he finds on his weekly late night Saturday shop, looks after the greenhouse when we are away...so this is the least we can do, cut his lawn and hedges!

We had a nice ride this morning, taking a fleabay sale to be posted and buying six pints of Cow with Calf milk....the best for yoghurt, from Mossgiel Farm.

This gives healthy calves fed naturally and good milk for us too.

A call by Nae Sae New, and I came home with an adjustable protractor...pristine and in its original box..and a small nail lifter!!

I like old tools!!

Colour

How exquisite is the colour of these?  So delicately blue. Old Cotswold Legbar hens.

I only bought these because they were reduced..but how fortunate to see them

On track...then a walk

Yesterday Pirate was part of a Masters' practice session before the national championships ..and we are back again for another four hours today!

A series of events is run during the four hours...there are two groups, fast and...not so fast! A lot of it is practicing techniques, as unless you do a lot of travelling to race, it's easy to get a bit rusty.

Our club is well spread out so it was a good chance for a get together!

We do have more than these...not everyone could get the time or money for a weekend away. When you consider the furthest travelled this weekend was from four hours north of Glasgow. Another Scot, now living in Manchester came north for the weekend...he lives nearer than some of our members!! as the velodrome building there is being renovated and the track closed for now.

After coming home we had a walk , a bit of exercise for me and walk the riding and car sitting out of his legs. Plus a chance to review for future foraging!

Other trees look laden too

And a beautiful sky...

Coffee run

Just a short ride to Mauchline to the Mossgiel Snug for lunch...there in record time but a slog back against the wind!

More Rain!

We had heavy rain last night and frequent steady rain showers today.

A mostly indoor day then! With occasional forays for fresh air.

The garden is certainly looking happy .

And I am glad that I painted all the shed fronts to match the green on the workshop.

Indoors I have spent the day cleaning bike bits ready to sell...no sales on yesterday's listings, more chance of that happening on the weekend.
