Celebration

 Happy whatever you celebrate ❤️

I started working on a block yesterday

Pencil rubbing to check

Oops... forgot to take the shine off the block with fine Wet and Dry...

That's better!

I will print up some business cards in a minute using all the small blocks.

Good practice.

I won't open any ink, just use the stamping ink pads...less mess to clean up !!

I had a few messages yesterday and one phone call.

Messages this morning..one friend visiting her mother on the Isle of Man has woken up with no voice after a night of coughing..a busy girl now having enforced rest!

Another friend is just back from a trip to NZ where a friend had a lovely wedding in Te Anau.

I might be getting a phone call today from another friend...

And hopefully the Oily One will be here... maybe tomorrow!!

It is all grey and damp out there...but it is forecast a bit better by midday, so a walk just might be in order.

Scottish Celebration of Pirate

I didn't get a photo of the hall and the people....but about eighty turned up...most of my family, and many sent apologies for being unable to be with us. Eight or nine shared memories after the initial talk by Dr Tom Smith.

Quite a few different clubs, although mainly Ayr Roads CC and Ayr Burners.

A few who were not from the world of cycling..and a few non cyclists drawn into that world...a lady who did event catering for Pirate when her daughter started cycling....a physio...and Dr Tom himself, who came to know the original ARCC when their club hut was sited the other side of the burn to his house....

I am hoping that others, especially those who sent apologies, will send me memories....and then these will go in the Book of Vic....

Taking it easy

Well it is our anniversary....eleven years together, five married!

We needed an easy day after yesterday! So just pottering around, and waiting for deliveries...one out of two made it...fresh ink for my printer...the promised whisky present didn't!!

Celebrating

A good friend to me, a guid pal to pirate.

A lifelong cyclist, a starter and reviver of cycling clubs and teams and a hard worker.

Fitness of someone half his age and mindset of one half that!

A good celebration.

Birthday afternoon

Not our birthdays..a friend's.  A good reason to have an afternoon outing.

Over to his home in the Kingdom of Fife, and a walk in the sun to the village of Culross at the bottom of the hill from his village.

That is the Ineos refinery in Grangemouth over the Firth of Forth..the colours haven't reproduced properly, but in the centre is a tall chimney with a large flame emanating from it...

Then after a good meal, a walk back up to our friend's house...past the village memorial.

Birthday ride

We didn't go far as it was quite breezy...and a headwind to our hot chocolate and shortbread stop! A lovely way to celebrate my birthday..and a tailwind home!! And the sun came out from behind the clouds.

Happy Anniversary!

We celebrated with a bike ride, of course! With a hot chocolate stop at a local farm shop.

We watched curtains of rain... probably hail and snow...pass by, with a sigh of relief!

It was bad enough being wrapped up as if for a Winter ride!!

The washing machine decided to sulk...but we haven't run out of clothes...yet!!

Then a wee dram...why not?!

That was yesterday.....there is much more snow on Arran today.

Brief respite and celebration

We had an dusk walk around Hannahston, just a change of air...and pick up a shopping bag of apples of course!

Ebaying is taking a lot of time as ever, but is steadily successful. We try and take them by bike to post them, but sometimes they are too big for the bike bag!

We chose Prestwick, with an ulterior motive...but the ice cream parlour on the prom was closed. Never mind...we had a nice view anyway!

Back to garden tidying and bike bit polishing!

We are missing friends and family. Our neighbour has to visit to our garden not our house..on rainy morning's him and pirate wave from each others front windows and phone each other!

Pirate's younger daughter got married last Friday..in Gretna Green! They have been wanting to marry for a long time, but couldn't afford it...then they had managed to plan for April...and lockdown came along...

They found a wedding weekend holiday package!! The paperwork was easier than that in Hampshire, so they went for it! To save family tensions, they told no-one!!

Pirate was the first to know, as soon as they arrived back home in Hampshire.

We have all celebrated by email, seen the lovely photos and will have a get-together when we can.
