Easy day

 Sunday's racing was good...they had four day's racing and no crashes, as well!

Today after some drive weeding (brother is not an avid gardener!) I went with him to Barrington Pottery..he had some plates from them a while back, now he is ordering some Breton style Cider Cups..like teacups but mug size....

And the café/ reception building for Barrington House was getting a new thatch.

There are several workshops and a second hand bookshop in old outbuildings

A good time was had by all

Championships

 

He got to stand on a box, have great craic with friends, we have seen all sorts of weather....and two days to go!!

a different sort of busy...

results!

 The Pirate got third in the 75+ sprint!

 I was third in the 50+ sprint, fastest 60+rider.
Then in the 500m time trial could ride in the World championship jersey that I won last October

 and Iwon a different stripey jersey!!

 The commissaires.....keep us safe and riding well....

 meanwhile outside in the rain, the speedway carries on....

 and I finished with a silver in the 60+pursuit....

 the jerseys were,unfortunately "one size fits all".......

 and himself rode all his events, helped plenty of people, enjoyed himself and was well appreciated and thanked....

getting mucky!

Last weekend we headed off to near Dunbar to help friends who were riding a cyclocross race. We manned the pits for five riders, cleaning muddy grassy bikes as they changed bikes every lap or so. If you allow mud and grass to build up too much the rear gear mechanism can explode with the clogging, or sieze and end up wrapped around the sprockets at the back.

We stayed overnight at a friend's hose in the Kingdom of Fife, before heading up the road to th Dunfermline Golf club....
my club, Sandy  Wallace Cycle Racing Team were meeting for a ride, followed by dinner.
We went with the slower group, along to Kincardine then retraced at our own pace! The Pirate is riding well, but an hour and a half out on the bike is plenty.

Having showered we all went up the spiral stone staircase to the wooden panelled dining room...all painted and carved. Must look into the history of this fascinating building!

In our club we have three Masters World Track Champions from this year...plus one other from 2010..our sponsor presented us with a bottle of Moet et Chandon champagne each!! Now to find a suitable occasion......

incentive

Many thanks to Elaine of Bramble Rambles for her kind blogpost....I needed incentive, with everything that has been going on lately.

We're getting ready for some important pre-Masters World Track Championships racing and training, and it isn't long before we head to the Manchester Velodrome for the big event.

We've got all our regular lawns and hedges up to date luckily before today's twelve hours (and counting!) of rain.
Today we've been confined to barracks by the weather..at least the housework mountain has been reduced!

I'll be putting more in my etsy shop as soon as I can..and updating my website..high time!!
  I've been reviewing some of the black&white work by pegging it up on the wall above my computer....

We are making more enquiries about somewhere to move the workshop contents to ,up here...hopefully we've found the right person to talk to this time.
I'm getting much from using my new camera and making cards from my own images, photo or drawn. However I've come to the conclusion that I'm really more a 3D person.
So much to be done..

Now we're back, catching up on peoples' grass and gardens, getting new customers ( we mended a gatepost today) and co-ordinating who is staying where and when for The Pirate's 75th Birthday Bash....and on top of this helping a friend out of a ghastly employment situation, giving her a refuge for a couple of days while she finds a new job.
So if I'm not here blogging regularly...you'll understand!!
