Gardening and sewing and cat

 Today started with sewing

And cat

After lunch, washing on the line as we now have sunshine and a stiff breeze after yet more rain this morning!

Then some weeding....

I would love a garden like this...but giving a hand is a good substitute!!

Garden envy...and genealogy ...and cat

I have garden envy....and daughter needs a hand!

More treats please!!

Indeg (named after one of their friends) is "un deg naw oed"...19 years old...and very vocal!!

I was catted....

Daughter has also had a breakthrough with genealogy...my 4x and 5x grandfathers were named Jean Florette...came from just south of Brittany...and for 150 years or more were going between London and France....and were Protestants....this is getting very interesting!!

Seems that I have Huguenot ancestors, not just Pirate.....

Ayr Dauner

Pity the postman at the white door!

I went to Ayr by bus to post fleabay sales..and took a dauner..or wander..

I am trying to walk at least half an hour every day.

1930s style new blocks of expensive flats built on the River Ayr end of the Lang Scots Mile promenade.

Admittedly they do have a nice view..

But they contrast strongly with the rest of the locality.

And some of the old walls

Showing the effects of the sand and wind after a couple of hundred years...I wonder how those flats will look in fifty years, let alone two hundred.

Excuse me, who are you looking at?? People are so rude, interrupting cat politics....

It was a beautiful morning..until 8am...shorts were rapidly changed for trousers...going out, a jacket was added...and by mid afternoon the rain started lightly.

Now we are back to proper rain, wind and it would be tempting to put the heating on, until I think of the cost!!

This morning's view

We have been catted.

This says, You need to rest after yesterday's journey!

A long journey, but with enough breaks.

We started as dawn was breaking, in wind and rain, and that carried on for 150 miles.

Then it was mainly dry until after we arrived. The traffic wasn't too heavy, even going around Shrewsbury at afternoon school traffic time, but we found out when we got here that it is half term time!

Food was on the table for us as we arrived...and a welcome from Woodchip, The Carpenter's daughter (I don't use real names for family on my blog).

Now for hopefully an easy day!

Leaves and life

I am doing my best to keep drawing...
 The local bees are happy
And so is Pirate, having borrowed a bike
And the cat just is.
Yesterday we had temperature over 30, today the wind is back in the southeast so it's a bit more like spring than summer.
We haven't listened to the 'news' since we arrived...feels good!

Travelling soon

We are busy helping to get our campercar ready for the off next Monday, and giving a hand around the property here too...gets us a better deal!
Meanwhile Peppy the cat, supervises.

Journey part two, plane to New Zealand

 7 hours to Dubai
 Then 14 hours to Sydney...

Change in Dubai...and wait an extra two hours for a seal to be changed. Arrive Sydney only an hour late as .they put a bit extra fuel in and played catch-up.
You could see the Bush fire smoke in the air.
On top of all that, arrived Christchurch in a hailstorm with lightning and had two strikes on the plane, fore and aft, just before we landed.

And the cat said Welcome, where have you been ???
