Heading South...arrived in Geraldine

I did a lovely pictorial post..but they got lost!
Meanwhile, others pull a small car behind a campervan.....

We are in the top 10 campground...with some beautiful trees.
The wind has just got up, feels like a storm brewing.. hopefully they will all be standing in the morning and we will have had some much needed rain.

Heading South

We hit the road again! Stopped to buy coffee in Bulls...
Where we could have bought a house!
Then on to Foxton, by which time the coffee was drinkable!!

Thinking we must look here next visit.....
Waiting for the Bluebridge ferry we were lucky to get a queueing slot with a breeze.
It was a good crossing, but when we arrived in Picton it was a good deal hotter!!
A short half hour drive to Blenheim where we found that the friends we are staying with had got married in their garden four hours earlier. We knew they had been planning a quiet no fuss wedding...and far less cost here than in the UK.
It is fortunate that we travelled yesterday, as there was a massive gas leak in Picton today and ferries had to turn back.

Summer is here with a vengeance and total fire bans...so it was a relief to have a misty morning for our group ride today...and after riding around Whanganui, the roads here were easy!!
As the afternoon turned hot, pirate did some bike cleaning and maintenance, and I got on with designing the next table mat.
This one just needs the black border.
The rest will be inspired by the pavements of Whanganui...

Flower

Morning Rose from the Hikurangi stayplace garden

Patchwork growing, more travel coming

The first table mat is taking shape, two squares will make a rectangular centre with a border..probably a narrow pale border and the 2 inch black border.
We move on on Thursday morning....today we have been in Aotearoa New Zealand for two months, yesterday we had been in Whanganui for a month.
It just feels like home here.

But move on we must, back to Blenheim for a week, where at least I can get more of the black cotton material for this project!!

Then down further South for the NZ Masters Games, and hopefully a visit to a certain potter in Waikouaiti!!

Then back to our first address here ready to catch up with more friends and fly back to Scotland.

Whanganui Vintage weekend 2020

We missed the trains boats and planes, but saw plenty of cars bikes and lorries!
Also lots of music, costumes and food!
