It works!

A short run in the car to collect a set of training rollers ( things you use instead of a turbo trainer) that I'm being given to sell...then the longer way home just to get used to the car and driving again.

Then the rest of the day cleaning and sorting bike bits. The bike/sewing room's floorspace is expanding!! The living room' s space definitely isn't!!

But at least it now looks a decent amount..two boxes of stuff to sort and then I need to go through identifying and pricing.

It will have to be done anyway, as what stuff doesn't sell will be for sale at the Manchester Bike Creche cycle jumble in four months time.

Just before 5 I decided that a change of air was needed..and a walk...so I went to one of our favourite foraging spots for some nice apples and plums!!

It’s scary driving after a long time. These days I don’t drive far at all
My reflexes are not what they used to be and there are lots of idiots on the road

isn't it wonderful when you can see the floor again after a good sort out! Do you feel freed now that you are driving again? Strangely I felt trapped when I realized I would have to drive again after nearly 6 years of not doing so.

It will be great to have you car back and, I am sure, will save lots of trips on multiple buses.

I can now choose...but still plan to use the bus where I can

I haven't driven our car for nearly four years. It now seems too daunting to try.

A favourite foraging spot sounds a good place to know.

You have a huge number of bike bits. They must represent collecting over many years. Having outlets to sell them all is fortunate.
I could not function without a car and am glad you have your car again.

I don't know if Lansing has a cycle jumble, but that's a great idea.

I love a mix of productive and peaceful in your day. It’s so satisfying to get the bike stuff sorted and the floorspace looking tidier, but also lovely that you took a pause to enjoy some fresh air and forage for apples and plums. That little balance of work and nature always makes a day feel really well-spent.

It's good to take a walk and clear the mind.
