I had a visitor today!
The joiner (and cyclist) who helped build and roof my studio extension swung by for a good blether.
We discussed weatherproofing , insulating and improving the roof on the studio...no point getting the stove refurbished and fitted and let all the heat out!!
I am breaking the mental Hamster Wheel, sticking an oar in its spokes to break out and build progress!!
I had a long Whatsapp chat with my daughter later on. We Do Not Do phone calls...anyone with experience of ADHD and Autism will recognise that!! You don't have control of the situation with a phone call.
You don't know what someone will say...and you don't have time to consider your reply...
Daughter's description of ADHD..Frantic Daydreaming, perfectionism, overthinking. catastrophising.
This morning....no incentive to get up!!Daughter's back garden....

I don't see aging, no wrinkles. Just a young one.
I’m one of those who prefer messaging to phone calls.
More and more I’m finding that I’m probably somewhere on the spectrum..
your daughters garden looks lovely. I prefer the natural looking gardens rather than the manicured
Ah, a face to go with the persona. I find myself happy to trade HEAT for grey rainy days . At least I can get things done on grey rainy days :)
You've got a big garden. I find I have the gardener everyone else envies as he is so cheap!!
I have been watching series 2 of Patience. Don't know if you have seen it, but she is very autistic and I assume, true to type (is there a type? I imagine there are many variations to the same "theme".)
I hope your Joiner doesn't think the studio roof will be too expensive a job.
The big garden is my daughter's. Ironic as she cannot walk far.
With Neuro Divergence..as with "Normal"...everyone is different and one size doesn't fit all
Thankyou. I know it is too easy to be self critical.
I see people far younger than myself...friends included...who look really old.
Having your wood stove in good working order and insulating the roof on your studio is money well spent. You'll enjoy the studio even more.
Your daughter's garden looks good. I remember you helping with her garden last year.
Wouldn't life be boring if we were all the same. Embrace the differences, that's my motto.
Looking great GZ.
Autism is so varied, myself and my 3 children all have different degrees of it, I don't mind video or phone calls from family or friends but I refuse to answer if I don't recognize a number.
Messaging works better for me. Have the opportunity to consider my words. I am awkward and self conscious sometimes. I never feel that way writing.
Increasing realization and understanding of neuro-spicy variations. Most families can recognize someone (near or distant) with some aspects. Interestingly I recently read that there appear to be 3 distinctly different conditions (defined by what is actually firing in the brain) all of which are lumped under ADHD because the visible symptoms tick the same boxes. However the current medication (for those who go down that route) doesn't help 2/3 of those diagnosed. I like the improving view that neuro-diversity is an important aspect of how/why humanity has proven to be so adaptable and successful as a species. Evolution hasn't wiped it out so we need it - obviously.
