We're in....

The place is a mess, but we are slowly making sense of it all.
I'll not comment about the last place, save to say that we are in a far better (and less costly) place now. We have to sit tight and wait another two weeks for the official deposit scheme to release our rent deposit......

We are having storm after storm...not as bad as the Highlands and Western and Northern Isles, but enough to blow over a heavy shed floor that was staked out and tied down. It is now tied to two convenient trees....
Until the wind and rain abate, we cannot rebuild our workshops.

We have to concentrate on sorting and clearing indoors, which is no bad thing!
At least we are warm, but I am having "fun" understanding how to use the WiFi digital central heating controller.
I long for the days of a match for the pilot light and a mechanical clock controller.

I'm still sorting from my last move in July. Here in Texas, where I live, the winds are also strong this time of year. Over the week end, I assembled a portable greenhouse. It almost blew away before I could anchor it with stone blocks.

So glad to hear you're in, and safe and sound at that!
Hope our card reached you through the storms xx

Yay!

A simple mechanical workaround really helps.

Sounds good, if not a wee bit blustery. Hope you are a bit more permanent now.

Good luck in your new home. We have one of those WiFi clock/thermostats here - and it's just started playing up. Either the signal has become weak or something is interfering on the channel because sometimes the heating doesn't come on when it should and sometimes it doesn't go off, even when the controller says it's over the set temperature. It's only a couple of years old. Pfft! I'm going to put our house computer WiFi on a different channel and see if that helps.
