planes

We splashed out on a day out and went to Omaka Aerodrome to see one of the world war one plane exhibitions. Good to see no glorification of either side, just facts. Marvellous restoration and reconstruction by Peter Jackson and the Weta Workshops plus a wealth of photographs and ephemera.
These were hanging around outside....

Really nice photos...we have a tiny single airstrip in our very small community. At one time, we had a once a month Saturday morning "fly-in", of small vintage airplanes. It was so much fun to see them land. There was also a lunch served...then, they flew out again. I guess the price of gasoline curtailed the monthly flying.
