printing and waiting

Testing,testing....I'm not 100% happy with the print quality.
It appears that I need to do two or three prints on scrap paper,to discard before the copies to keep.

I had got it nailed....but that was before we moved, over a year ago...

I'm persevering for now, but I might have to leave the water based inks and return to the more expensive oil based inks...at least they are linseed oil based.

The kiln shed is coming along slowly. The slabs are down, although not completely even, which annoys the Pirate. I just think that they'll do fine and lifting them to re-lay will only cause more de-lay!!

Nice print. I like the design.
When I was silk screening, over 25 years ago, I discovered that all inks are not the same, as with paper. There was nothing more frustrating than printing on a different brand of the same type of paper and watching it bleed!
Toes crossed you find paper and ink you enjoy using.

I'm going to take a pottery course here
Not sure if I'll be any good but I'm looking forward to trying it :)

I know nothing about the rights and wrongs of printing but to me it looks beautiful.

A beautiful, memorable image. I do like black and white! There is a simplification and abstraction to black and white that gets the imagination going and dreams started! Mmmmm.... oil based inks are wonderful for print making, the only thing I don't like about them is the clean up afterwards. A printmaking friend who is somewhat sensitive to mineral turps always uses that citrus based turps substitute for cleaning up, expensive, but it made it a much nicer process!

Peter it is the cleaning up that I dread..and getting the ink on places other than the paper....the citrus based turps sub sounds interesting

Colin Anderson, a painter in oils who lives across the road from me in Tonbridge changed to the citrus turps substitute when the regular turps started giving him health issues. He says it's fine.
