windy...

Hoping that friends in New Zealand stay safe, with Tropical Cyclone Gita on the way.
A friend on her way to Christchurch sent me a link to this global wind map.
Fascinating, beautiful, useful.

Isn't the map pretty. Luckily, we are going to miss the worst of Cyclone Gita but the wind is starting to get up strength here.

Storms frighten me. I can’t remember being afraid of the weather when I was young, but now strong winds can cause me great anxiety.

I remember the storms of the early 90s in North Wales,I had a smallholding with the house dating from 1750. The walls were two foot thick and more, but in storms the slates would ripple like a wave
