I think this year may be summed up as better late than never!!
The roses have got their act together this week. Today I picked the first fruit of this year...thinning the gooseberries, and one alpine strawberry that was just about ripe!!
But you can't do everything 100% right.

It's all looking good.
Oh, gooseberries! Reminds me of my granny's garden....
There are a few things there that my chickens would like, we are in the depths of winter, wet for 3 days then cold for 3 days so the grass is not growing the chickens are climbing the trees for some greenery, we do have some of last years lemons so I cut 2 of those a day for them.
You do look to be very productive.
Doing everything right -- how BORING! LOL
Wow. Look at that garden grow! I'm a bit worried about mine. Peppers, onions, tomatoes look great, but my beans look as if somethings gotten to them. I have peas growing, at least for now. I think a garden grows much better when you are there to tend it daily.
Indeed Steve...you see one of these perfect gardens and you think what are they hiding?!!
This year has been a little odd with its timings - the strawberries are going great guns - earlier and more enthusiastically than last year, but the beans have decided yet again to give up (three sowings have all been pathetic) the brassicas seem to be ok - bit slow in some beds but that was due to wood pigeon onslaught over the weekend!
I don't think everything is right in our gardens ever - it is either too wet or too dry or there is a late frost - I think we have to just grit our teeth and get on with it. Good luck - I think we are all desperate for rain - ten drops here last evening.
PLUSH!
