A good day seeing some carrying on, others setting up. Meeting old friends, making new ones..some of whom then turned out to have friends in common...and we are talking worldwide!!
Then down to the town centre with daughter and family to watch the British Cycling women's criterium championship..
1.6km round the town centre, hills, descents, corners, all different surfaces...and hard and fast! I only stayed to watch the women, as the men started at 8pm...for an hour's racing...and it is 40 minutes walk back up the hill from the seafront!!
We started watching from the library steps...this is the local cat who visits the library regularly
Hoping to get out of the rain! Which thankfully didn't last long
And a Scottish winner in both races!!

Looks like a fun day!
This post goes from sticks of wood (I wonder how many were crated in to the kilns) to rainy streets with swooshing bikes! Loved seeing blogger Euan Craig's set-up...and I know he uses a lot of wood! Just thinking of them bringing in all the fire bricks for the kilns...amazing! Hope there will be time for some kiln openings too, but I don't know how long the fesitval lasts.
I should think you'd be in your element -- pottery AND cycling! It sounds like a fantastic day (apart from the rain!)

It looks like a fun but full on day.
Euan actually doesn't use a lot of wood...and his 0.38 cubic metre kiln was up to 1300⁰C in about 11 hours. His kiln at home is a cubic metre.
You did a lot in one day. I've never had anything to do with ceramics of bike racing.

The festival brings together a large group of very talented ceramics enthusiasts. Sharing time with your friends and peers makes a great day. Add to that the cycling and it is perfection.
I love that shop front with the yellow door and tiles. Is the library cat allowed inside?
