A long trip today...about 500 km, but really worth it. We made an early start by 8, so the roads were empty and the morning cool for the first hour...we got a little lost in Verizon, but with a little map reading found that we weren't far off the planned route.
First stop was the Centre Ceramique contemporien in La Borne, paid for not by the Commune, but by the ceramic artists and potters...it is a village and area that has had potters for thousands of years....
Somehow I missed taking a photo of the outside!
Inside we had a guided tour of the exhibition, by a Dutch pottery who has lived in the village for 11 years. The main tradition is wood fired kilns, and there are some in the centre where they have courses and firings and visiting potters.
Then lunch En Plein Air....
I should have taken a photo of the tartines...but they were too good to delay eating!
