 A long day....well, I did insist on being rather early... better than late, for an aeroplane.

The day started well with a date made for the car to be collected to go to a different garage to be mended....a garage owned by my neighbour over the road's grandson!!

I was in Glasgow airport by midday...far too early! Packed lunch eaten it was getting through security then go and sit in the departure lounge until the correct gate was listed...unlike our flights with Emirates when we knew beforehand and could wander up and sit in a quiet place.

Eventually it came up on the board...and we all went up...and I had my bag size checked....just...with a little persuasion! Some staff would have demanded the extra charge...but I was ok! 

Then....not boarding by tube...but down the stairs into the heat and walk over to the plane and up the stairs! Not a huge plane...31 rows of 6 seats, three each side.

A smooth take off, a mostly smooth flight until a little turbulence before Bordeaux..but as we approached the runway, it lifted up again!! they had to circle before landing a quarter of an hour later as the plane just before had had a bird strike as it landed and was stuck.on the runway.

Then a good landing....and slam the anchors on as the runway there is quite short.

Then an easy two hour drive to get back to his home....talking for a long time to settle down, a quick snack and bedtime.

Lovely to sleep in a place with no streetlights....and the sunshine in the morning...
