A nice finish to a day out

A day out today.... getting up at 8.30...but that will turn into 7.30 when the clocks "fall back" !!

Morning coffee..which turned into lunch...well...carrots are vegetables, even if they are in cake.....and preceded by cheese (in a scone!!) good craic in the gallery in Lauriston and cracking good art!!

Then Castle Douglas for art supplies....a Gem (!) of a shop ....and yes, they also do mail order...but to be able to see what is available for real, in such an Aladdin's Cave of goodies....

Nothing jumped out and said "buy me" in the house clearance emporium today, for a change!! Just a relaxing wander around the town.

Builders had some fun? A shop slowly being renovated at last.
And the clock tower in the middle of the town

I didn't feel like retracing my wheel tracks...so took a route actually shorter than the main road to Dumfries....then home....

And after supper, as I put the wheelie bin out for tomorrow's collection....

Castle Douglas is an interesting place of contrasts - sophistication and decay.

The builders in the window made me smile.

I'd love to visit castle Douglas. Buying art supplies reminds me of my late grand father who was a painter.

I usually start the day cleaning up leftovers of whatever we had the day or evening before. SWMBO blanches at some of my "breakfasts". We had that same big moon a few days ago but I can't see the moonrise from where we are so it was pale yellow by the time I did see it.

I had meant to leave a comment on the 3rd, apparently I did not, anyway, your pottery is beautiful. I love the doo dads on the pot tops, very lovely.
