Not bikes

 Just because there was bike racing going on, doesn't mean that other things get ignored!!

We went to watch the final of the Tour Series criterium races in Castle Douglas....the are having a four day bike and food festival.

I found some different bikes....

Lawn...or meadow?

The meadow will be trimmed soon, when the orchid seeds ripen.

Printing paused at present. Waiting for the lighthouse prints to dry and the printing table is full of bike bits being cleaned.

The car has had two new boots and an alternator...tracking being done today.  My bank balance will be saying OW!  As will the other account that the  pots prints and bike bits money goes into...I am buying a secondhand cage for my gas bottles..£150....but would be £700 new.

At least I will be legal and they will be safe.  

I am still trying to source ceramic fibre, adhesive and stabiliser to finish the flue section.

It's either out of stock or they don't reply.....keep trying. I may have found the manufacturer....

Harvesting and planning

 Brassica cage under construction...not to keep them in, but to keep the cabbage butterflies out!!

I am wondering how to fit more broad beans in next year.....

Afternoon bike ride and cordial result

 The last two are in the wrong order...

We had a lovely ride up the Stinchar Valley, up the back lane to Colmonell from Ballantrae and back on the main lane! Only twelve miles, but not much was flat! 

The views were from the top of the first hill going northwards along the coast towards Girvan.

Nice to see a Aran from a different angle! And in the first, just see a boat on the way to Ireland...which you see in shot 2.

When we got back I mixed the cordial...6 pints of extracted juice, 6 pounds of sugar, 100g of citric acid and 2 teaspoons of pectolase to make sure that the cordial doesn't set when it is processed.
